Concrete & Rock Solutions Ltd - Retaining Wall Structures

PRODUCTS: STAROCK AND STABLOCK

The following four short case study videos show our blocks being installed and how they look after completion. Just click on the link buttons below:

We have two types of pre-cast concrete block – StaRock (sculptured face) and StaBlock (flat face) made from high strength concrete (C35, EN7 warranted) and with >125 lifespan.

  1. StaRock,

    1. Use
      • StaRock is a substantial retaining wall system that has proved to be a truly cost-effective, aesthetically pleasing solution for walls above 1.5m where substantial slope support is required.
      • The many places for use are listed on our product overview page.
    2. StaRock Block Features:
      • This is our sculptured face block that looks like natural cut-stone blocks;
      • All blocks are to metric sizes (height, width and depth) and have a standard height of 0.5m;
      • Blocks have variable widths (from 0.5m {{? check}} up to 1.2m) and depths (from 0.6m {{? check}} to 1m), where use depends on requirements and wall heights that CRS will detail in the engineering design;
      • Our standard base block measures W1.2m x H0.5m x D1.0m and weighs approx. one tonne;
      • We also supply sculpture-faced corner blocks, two sided blocks, planter layer blocks and other style blocks depending on design requirements;
      • All blocks have knobs on the top and, apart from the base blocks (which have a flat bottom), blocks have grooves on the bottom for accurate and flexible alignment during installation, and which prevent lateral movement and deliver high wall integrity and stability;
      • The top and sides of the standard blocks are angled in, to deliver an 8o batter in the vertical space, and flexibility to create straight or attractive curved (convex and concave) walls in the horizontal space;
      • All blocks have integral lifting hooks (Fromeida) and we provide the the lifting shackles for attaching to lifting chains;
      • Fencing and/or Railings can be attached in several different ways to StaRock blocks.
  2. StaBlock

    1. Use
      • StaBlock is a substantial freestanding, and/or retaining, wall system that has proved to be a truly cost-effective, robust solution for walls from xm to ym high
      • The many places for use are listed on our product overview page.
    2. StaRock Block Features:
      • This is our flat-faced block;
      • All blocks are to metric sizes (height, width and depth) and have a standard height of 0.5m {{is this correct?}};
      • Blocks have variable widths (from 0.5m {{? check}} up to 1.2m{{? check}}) and depths (from 0.6m {{? check}} to 1m{{? check}}), where use depends on requirements and wall heights that CRS will detail in the engineering design;
      • Our standard base block measures W1.2m x H0.5m x D1.0m{{? check}} and weighs approx. one tonne;
      • All blocks have knobs on the top and, apart from the base blocks (which have a flat bottom), blocks have grooves on the bottom for accurate and flexible alignment during installation, and which prevent lateral movement and deliver high wall integrity and stability;
      • The top and sides of the blocks are rectangular and are perfect for creating perpendicular walls. To create a batter the foundation would need to be created to deliver the angle required. {{? check}}
